Actress Farah Fawcett of CHARLIE'S ANGELS fame has lost her battle with cancer.

Sad

A very pretty lady who proved that she was a gifted actress and fought a long and brave battle against cancer.

Let's all raise a glass to her worthy memory!

Smile

I know you like Sci Fi.

Did you ever see the movie "Logan's Run"?

She was in that movie (middle).

No Gator ... not really a fan of sci-fi, and certainly no fan of sci-fi films. More of a catholic reader, really.

I would read the label on the sauce bottle if there was nothing else around! Wink

I am sorry but since you said you were reading Harry Turtledove I just assumed you enjoyed SciFi. My bad.

Oh, I do, Gator - don't get me wrong. But I'm not a fan. Fans (I imagine) read nothing else, but - as I said - I read all sorts of stuff. Nothing better than a good serial killer!

I tend to read Sci Fi and History. General fiction is mostly boring to me.

I recently finished reading "Korea, The Forgotten War" and "One Second After".

I discovered a few years ago I knew very little about the Korean War so I have been reading up on it.

One Second After is a story of the aftermath of a nuclear attack on the US. Along the lines of “Alas Babylon” but not as depressing as “On the Beach”. The attack is EMF which destroys the technological infrastructure of the US and forces a substance economy.

Logans Run was on TV just before Farrah Fawcett died. I'd seen that movie several times before but didn't notice her until this last time. I was watching Good Day LA on Friday and they mentioned that she used to be the main face of a toothpaste brand before she made it big.

She was very nice to look at but not the world's greatest actress. Charlie's Angels was pretty awful, although it was ok for a laugh now and then.

Was nice to see that Good Day LA gave her a fair share of coverage, despite Michael Jackson being the main news of the day.
