My 15 y/o wants to set up her first bank account. So I got the forms from one of the banks I use, HSBC, filled em in and took them & her along to the local branch today to do the necessary.
"Sorry, we can't set up new accounts in this branch, you have to go to a main branch"
The "main branch" is 7 miles away on a street with very restricted parking and two traffic wardens for every motorist.
So our local Lloyds branch acquired a new customer (walked off the street, no appointment, job done in 15 mins)
What use is a bank that can't open bank accounts?
