Remember our old nemesis Aerostar from Sterling Times?

She's a columnist named "Ann Heggett" living in the San Francisco Bay area and co-hosts a regular internet radio broadcast.

And believe it or not--she actually uses "Babe" as her nickname.

In her latest column, she's upset that the new STAR TREK movie actually has young actors in the lead roles. Funny--it's about the STAR TREK characters' younger years.

She has always had weight problems, Dog, as I have. In better days, before she "came to power" on ST, and it went to her head, we used to discuss Atkins on line most amicably.

As a Fattypuff myself, I think you Skinifers should leave us alone! Girthism must surely be just as bad as racism or Islamophobia! Laughing

Not looked at it for yonks, but since you asked I just had a glance.

She does appear to still be in control, of the board, if not of herself.

Stephen does not appear to be posting at all now.

Quidnunc seems to have been deleted along with all his posts.

What's scary about this is how polite, nice, witty, and soft-spoken Aerostar seems on her radio broadcasts. (Look at her bio information and you'll find a webpage devoted to her show and download links for it.)

Bad things come in pleasant-seeming packages.

But read her latest column about the STAR TREK movie. She thinks it's "ageist" (a curiously PC term for someone like her) that younger actors play the younger versions of the Star Trek characters!

She thinks that she and her fellow Baby Boomers are being discriminated against because younger actors are playing--YOUNGER versions of their favorite TV characters.

She certainly ruined ST for me ... and the way she mangles the xsearch engines by claiming to be "FreeBritannia.org" probably militates against our success here.

She ruined ST for many of us - she looks like Eddie Izzard doesn't she (or is that an insult to Eddie Izzard?)

We used to refer to her as Aerosh*t
