Malik ... are the Cousins complacent?

The Cousins in the Great Satan - Gator excepted, I think ! - assume that their Muslims are not like everyone else's Muslims, and especially not like the Muslims of the Little Satan, Britain.

Their Muslims are all settled, happy citizens who salute the flag; their mosques are just the meeting places for another religious denomination. Nothing spoken in those about the Ummah, and Allah's plans for Muslim World Domination!

Of course, many of their Muslims are indeed "settled, happy citizens who salute the flag". So are many of ours. But what is the betting that the Cousins, too, have their fair share of Mad Mullahs and radicalised young men - and probably both of us have our "sleepers".

Will the affair of Major Malik make them question this complacency - or was this another case of "nothing to do with Islam"?

To my Rt Hon friend. as it pertains to the latest example of a radical muslim attacking Americans (a reckless summation I admit), perhaps I should defer to the learned standard of my esteemed commander in chief. That is to say that since this latest tragedy did not envolve a white Cambridge police officer arresting a black man for disorderly conduct (which. as we were told within hours of the event, was a stupid thing to do regardless of the facts thus rendering any internal investigation pointless), it is far too soon to make any kind of reckless conclusion regarding the motives of this "man of faith" that lead him to act in such an apparently innappropriate manner. After eight years of cowboy diplomacy, we now have (like most of Europe) enlightened leadership. No doubt the shouts of "Hear Hear" rang out from our learned cousins accross the pond in aggreement as yet another example of reasoned judgement was given by our President, who in this case, was quick to caution, â€œWe donâ€™t know all the answers yet, and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.â€ If, as is claimed, Major Hasan was indeed shouting "Allahu Akbar" as he opened fire we need to understand his context for such remarks. Rest assured when the time is right we will be told what the proper conclusion is. Rolling Eyes
