New poll blow for Brown - This is becoming a bit tedious... Gordon Brown has suffered a fresh blow to his political authority with an opinion poll showing the Conservatives enjoying a 24-point lead among voters in key marginal constituencies.
The survey, conducted in 30 vital "swing" seats across the country, puts David Cameron's party on 41 per cent of the vote.
Support for Labour has slumped to 17 per cent, putting the party in third place behind the Liberal Democrats, who are on 18 per cent. When a poll of the same marginals was undertaken 12 months ago, Labour was six points ahead of the Tories.
The CrosbyTextor poll is another setback for the Prime Minister who is facing a possible coup to unseat him in September. Some Cabinet ministers are plotting against him and growing numbers of Labour MPs are calling for him to be replaced after Labour's loss to the Scottish Nationalists in last week's by-election in Glasgow East, once the party's 25th safest seat.

Sorry to sound like a grouchy bastard, and to miss the point of the article entirely - but whoever wrote this should be shot. We do not have swing seats, we have marginals - Americans have swing states. English is a perfectly good language and can well cope without pollution from foreign speakers of an alien tongue.
