We Bears DID watch the opening ceremony ... bits of it, anyway. And very impressive it was, too. Follow that, London!
But we haven't watched much else, apart from the bits you can't avoid on the News.

(Please - no flames or aguments - this is for amusement purposes only and uses up to date figures - and I know that we can't expect the very old and very young of respective countries..... etc etc ........)
I'll update it as we go along and do it for silver, bronze, total medals and also by land area.

Interesting Skippy.
Also, without Michael Phelps the USA would have only 17 gold medals, which would put them considerably further down that list.
Does it really matter though?

Maybe he should be given statehood!
I haven't watched anything - just briefly followed the results reported in the media. I note GB doing really well this time around.
I thought it was interesting that Zimbabwe was doing quite well (4 medals) and in swimming.

Yep, although all four medals won by the same swimmer, Kirsty Coventry, who lives and trains in the US.
I was quite surprised Zimbabwe were represented at all to be honest, considering the situation.

Love the input from you lot....
This should bring us back on topic
I wasn't aware that we'd gone off-topic.
The thread is about whether anyone is watching the Olympics.
Surely discussion about the over-commercialisation of the Games is at least as relevant to the topic as is the ethics of making one little girl lip-synch to the singing of another? Or as an individual competitor having a hissy fit?
Spartacus
Spartacus, you obviously are a closet case still living with your Mum !!!
