Independence and New Political Party for South East Hello all,
I think the time is now right to actively take measures to enable a proper governance for the people of South East England. Next year we have Euro Elections, and for £500 can put up a Candidate.

It calls for regional governance, therefore it should be opposed. We should be governed at Union, national (England), county, district/borough/city, and town/parish level - governance at some fictitious regional level is as alien and damaging as at European level.

We in the South East get the Government the UK Electorate wants. The trouble is the Electorate for the UK Parliament includes Scottish, Welsh, Inner City, Northern Post Industrial populations who have little in common with the South East excluding Inner London.
We can gain control of Government here, and solve at a stroke many of the problems raised on this Board, by matching the Electorate to areas of shared mutual interest.
All within the UK.
South East Regional Government is already in the pipeline. We should turn that to our advantage.
PS. Historically speaking, Regional Government here predates English National Government, and was more closely aligned to the people.

That "regional" government did not include the fictitious "South East"; and the heptarchy is long gone. We certainly do need sub-national government, but there are established situations for that (principally the counties) and creating layers of government which do not arise from the affections of the people should be opposed always and everywhere.
