I am not going to vote I have given some thought to this issue of the EU, Lisbon, and Camerons handling of it.
I'm not surprised by what transpired yesterday but I'm not fooled by it either.
Britain is going to be absorbed by a European Superstate. It's a done deal and nothing is going to change that now.
So I've concluded that, all things considered, there isn't very much point in voting any more.
True democracy is finished, we will not be governed, ultimately, by an those we elect but by faceless bureaucrats in Brussels.

Well, I've always maintained that if voting changed anything, it'd be outlawed...

Ken Livingstone said that.
He was right, for once.

As your link to the Italian crusifix story shows us, it isn't 'will' but 'are'...

I have come to that same conclusion here in "Merica. The only way we are going to get on track is to revolt to restore the Constitution and the Republic. Democracy is not a very good form of government. It can produce tyrants the same as any other form of government. The Founding Fathers of the US understood this concept very well and said that from time to time we may have to kick the ass of the tyrants. They should not get a pass just because they were elected.
Like you I have no more intentions of voting for the clowns that run for public office. Very few of them have any intention of really protecting the Constitution or even representing the will of the people.
It sounds like you would be willing to join the movement and we can make it International.
I can restore the Constitution here in the US and you can restore the sovereignty of the UK, which so many of your fellow countrymen have died fighting for over the years.

Wish it were that easy though.
As long as the people have their bread and circuses, I'm afraid that the boot will continue to stamp on the human face. Probably increasingly so.

How the Swiss must be shaking their heads wondering how they get on happily with their referendums whilst the rest of Europe (the wider world, too?) submits to their dictators.

Perhaps, but they've been doing their share of submitting to foreign dictators lately haven't they.

Who was it who said "No matter who you vote for you just get the government"?

All the same I shall vote, and vote Conservative.
The worst that can happen is that you get a better class of snout in the trough. Get rid of the OIKS !
I understand your feelings, Dog, because I share them. I had put it down to old age, a kind of disillusion with the world of politics. I find myself caring less and less. But that can't be the case with you!

It is the case.
I find myself more and more disinterested.

Forgive me for pedantically pointing out the difference between "disinterested" and "uninterested". Uninterest =boredom. Disinterest means we have nothing to gain (or lose) from some action or its outcome.
You may be uninterested, but you are not disinterested, because we all have an "interest" here. It is not in your best interest to continue with a government hell-bent on taxing us to death and ruining all our institutions. Which is why we should vote for someone, even if it is the BNP or UKIP!

I am disinterested. Ultimately it doesn't matter who I vote for or who is elected, most policy and law will be made by unelected officials in Brussels anyway.

But they will affect you, all the same. So you are uninterested!

Can we just agree that I couldn't give a toss?
