Hello Lindsay, sorry you can't get on the main forum, you're not the only one to have problems like that with AOL. I'm afraid I don't have a solution.
Rana is still around, I heard from him yesterday. He's had some problems lately so hasn't been able to post much.
I've had my address book disappear twice from OE. Didn't get it back either time. Best to back up really. I had to "reconstruct" it as best I could from old emails.
Hope you're well and having a Merry Christmas, etc.
All the best for 2008.

Are you surfin on A.O.L. or just connecting?
A.O.L. is my I.S.P. and so my connexion comes through them, but I surf with Internet Explorer, and I've never had any issues getting on here.

There's something different about your connections.
Lindsay seems to have only had one IP address, and it's the same one as 9 others poster on this site. This is, I understand, because AOL allocate a single IP address to multiple users.
TJ, your IP seems to change frequently and no one else has ever shared one as far as I can see.

Now that is interesting. AOL is my ISP, and for some reason - although I had difficulties at one time - everything is now hunky-dory. I use Netscape mostly, but it has problems with downoads so I also use Windoze Exploder.
You suggested a fix to me that worked, Dog, using another service that I have forgotten to cancel (!) so maybe Lindsay could do the same? It was using some sort of proxy, wasn't it?
When I was using Orange - with whom I had a fight (which I won in the end) - my ISP was never the same twice. I think it may now be one of those you mentioned, though.
